Baptism

We read in Acts 8 verse 12 when Philip preached the good news ( Gospel of Jesus Christ) and the people accepted Him as their Lord they were baptized! Praise God! For me it’s easy, I am a simple guy and simple understandings the word of God is clear. Jesus the son of God who was without sin was baptized thus so was I! We want to be like Jesus! We read there was Johns baptism and Jesus.. Act 19 v 5 and right after they were baptized into the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit came on them!

When I was baptized over 25 years ago, no doves were flying around but for some reason it all seemed in slow motion.. I am thankful I did and I encourage you do do the same.

  1. On sunday night, the youth discussed baptism during small groups at Pastor Jared’s house. One of the teens, Jacob Byers described baptism in a way that I never thought. He said Jesus was baptized to show he was God’s son and We get baptized to show we are God’s children as well. When he said that I was blown away that God revealed such wisdom to Jacob. It made me excited to see what God is going to do in the youth to come in CLC. Knowing that this is my last year in the youth group and seeing how my friends are starting to mature in there walk with the lord it makes me happy. I hope that some if not all of them decide to get baptized because it will just show how much each of them has grown. Lastly, I would like to say great job Jacob and I look forward to what God has planned for his life.

  2. I also want like Jesus. I want to allow Him to do whatever he wants in my life. I guess baptism is a way of associating with him in his death and resurrection.
