Lets Get Personal
I have grown up in the church my whole life. As long as can remember I have been going to church on Sundays and Wednesdays. I have to helped mow the lawn (under parental force), paint, clean, run the sound equipment, clean the snow off the sidewalks, chase bats out of the sanctuary…long story…you get the picture. But as much time as I spent in the church, I don’t believe my relationship with God became personal until I was 18. The place and the time I will never forget (Youth convention, the last service), because it was there that my relationship with God became more than something my parents wanted for me, it became personal. As God flooded me with his grace and mercy, my sins fell off my back like a giant weight. I was free! And I haven’t looked back since. What God started that night continues today, and will continue for the rest of my life.
As long as I live I will never forget that night, the night my life changed forever. That is my story.
I think it would be great if we could share our “stories” with each other. Please consider sharing how you came into a relationship with God. Maybe you have been a Christian your whole life, or maybe just a short time…it doesn’t matter. I look forward to hearing about how God has touched and changed you.

I totally understand that. I know I didn’t get “personal” with God until I was 19 or 20. That’s when i think i fully understood what God wanted for us and me. I took a mission’s trip to Mexico and my life was changed after that. Growing up I used to think that church/God/Christianity was all about rules and regulations. But in the last 4 or 5 years I have seen so much more about God and truly believe I am “personal” with him now.
I think the title “Lets Get Personal” is unique. That is exactly what God is saying to you! Jesus is calling “Lets Get Personal” to all.
